John Edward Coleman Jr. 70 of Monessen, passed away on Thursday January 5, 2026 at his home. Born in Brownsville on October 10, 1955, he was the son of John Edward and Mary Homas Coleman Sr..

John was a Vietnam War Veteran having served as a Sargent in the U.S. Army.. He had received his Associates Degree in Para Legal. John was retired from Arcelor Mattal where he worked as a heater helper. He was a member of the Steelworkers Union Local #2698 and served as the recording secretary. John was also a member of the Mid Mon Valley Unemployment Committee . He was Catholic by faith and a member of the former St. Hyacinth Church in Monessen.

John enjoyed model trains, fishing and reading.

Surviving are his wife Patience Galipo Coleman, 5 children; Charity (Donn) Ruhl of Monessen, John E. (Kimberlee) Coleman III of Brentwood, Katrina Coleman (Steven Johnson) of Manassas, VA, George Samuel (Jessica) Coleman of Columbus, OH and Charles Joseph Coleman of Monessen, 2 grandchildren; Julian Johnson and Henry Coleman, 3 brothers; Scott Coleman of Independence Twp., Mark Coleman of Charleroi and Glenn Coleman of Belle Vernon, 1 sister Cheryl Gindele of Eighty-Four and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no public visitation. A date and time for a memorial service will be announced in the spring.
